Planning our Christmas roadtrip around Europe!

Ok, so road trip may be an ambitious term. Let's call it our 'mini road trip'.

Although we've been thinking about it since August, it is now November and a month away so I'm allowed to plan it in more detail! Yay!

Originally we I wanted to go from England - France - Belgium - Netherlands - Germany - Austria - Liechtenstein - Switzerland - France - England.

Then I sensibly got talked out of it and have now planned a much smaller trip, allowing less traveling time in between places and lot's of time to see and explore! 

I finish work/uni on 14th December. We wanted to be back in time to prepare for Christmas with our families, so we are leaving on the morning of 15th December and getting home the evening on the 22nd December.

We have planned that we will be going from London to Folkstone and getting the channel tunnel out, so that we have enough time during our first day... but on the way home will be getting the ferry to Dover, because it's just super fun!

I'm sooooo excited. This will be our first time out of the UK since Jakob was 1. Joshua's first time EVER out of the UK.

We wanted to get a campervan, or some kind of van but 1. we can't afford one right now and 2. we're on such a short timescale - so we will be staying in hotels and hostels. I considered couchsurfing and contacted a few people earlier in the year but again with the timescales, first trip with both boys etc we have just gone for the ease of paid accommodation. We chose the cheapest in each area, and luckily there were some really nice places for the cost :)

So now I just get to plan and daydream for the next 5 weeks :D
