Let me start by saying I am no poet, but the boys LOVE autumn. Jakob even helped me write a blog post about the best things to do in Autumn last month - so we already had some ideas for the centre parcs autumn poem challenge.

We read through the tips listed on the website, and number 2 was definitely our favourite tip...

"Play outside – Despite the drop in temperature, it’s great to wrap up warm and get outside in the fresh air. The sound of the leaves crunching as you stroll through the park or play in the garden is bound to get you and your children inspired, so why not head outside for a brisk autumn stroll before setting to work on your poetic masterpiece?"

We don't need any encouragement to get out and about, no matter what the weather! So we did some playing, and some thinking. The boys are a bit young to actually write the poem but they told me some words that I had to include:
  • leaves
  • fox
  • fire
  • conker
  • river
  • cuddle
  • mud
  • log
  • (and some colours)
So we got to work. Jakob had final say, and made me change certain bits. Then we chose some pictures together to make it a bit more visually interesting! The boys were both thrilled with the end result and want me to print it as a book format for bedtime stories! Bless them!

So anyway, here goes nothing:
