The theme of the gallery over at sticky fingers blog this week is 'a younger me'.

I've just got in from work, but I wanted to write something. Therefore I have to use what I have. And I don't have any much younger photos of me on my computer already so I thought I'd go with a teenage me, or more precisely from 2003-2009. The year I become a teenager to the year I became a mummy.

Thinking about the past isn't always a nice or positive thing, but I've tried to make this post positive, only leaving in the good or interesting bits and cutting out all the teenage angst... lol!

Here goes:

2003. 13.

I met my best friend (see the blurry girl above). We went to spain and had a blast and have been best friends since.
We listened to all different types of music and started going to gigs. We liked ICP (again, see above lol.)
I got my first boyfriend, and then got dumped for the first and only time in my life.
I got my 2nd boyfriend, fell completely, utterly and madly in love. Yes at 13, and I still feel that love to this day when I think of him. Whoever said you never forget your first love wasn't lying.
The year I started smoking. The year I started drinking much more than I should have.
The year I got my first non-ear piercing.

The year I dyed my hair for the first time. (picture below)

2004. 14.

The year I left home. I stayed in a squat after me and my boyfriend got kicked out of his house. Needless to say I moved back home after experiencing squat life!
The year I learnt to play drums and started a band called Suitable for Coeliacs.
The year I started missing most of school.
The year I first got cheated on.

2005. 15.

The year we joined air cadets, the first time I ever camped and the year I had to leave air cadets.
The first and only time I've seen someone get shot (in Brixton, the place has scared me ever since).
The year we went to lot's of fun parties and had lot's of fun parties.
The year I had to start weekly meetings with the headteacher, in a trade off for not being expelled.

2006. 16.

The year I made a video for my friends, with a tweenies soundtrack.

The year I went on my first girly holiday to Spain. The holiday of a lifetime, the first (and only) time I stole a boat and got chased by the Spanish policia. The holiday I'll never forget, with the girls I'll never stop loving, no matter how rarely we get to catch up these days.

The year I broke up with my 1st love, and the year I dated lot's of boys.
The year we made fake IDs and spent most nights in Leicester Square.
The year we hung out with mindless self indulgance.
The year I went out with a boy from a band and got loads of free stuff from his tours (like crates of jagermeister).
The year I passed 11 GCSEs (including A*s, As and Bc) after being predicted a U (fail) in every subject.
The year I got accepted into, and started, 6th form. The year I got my first job - B&Q, and quit within a month, and the year I got my second ever job - at Currys.

2007. 17.

The year I dropped out of 6th form and the year I got fired from Currys.
The year I started working at Maplin and met Ian and subsequently the year I broke up with my 2nd true love for Ian.

The year we spent the summer hanging out with Less than jake - it was a blast.

2008. 18.

The year I decided to find some direction in my life. I applied for college and got a place to start in September 2009.

Me and Ian planned a future. We moved moved in together, and made our plans - once i had finished my A levels and gone to uni we would get engaged, buy a house, get married and have lot's of little babies.

The year I worked really hard during my job at Maplin, got promoted to team leader and was in training to become assistant manager. The year I quit my job at Maplin in August ready to start college in September.

The year Ian surprised me with a long weekend in Paris, in August the weekend of my 19th birthday.

The year I found out I was pregnant, a week before starting college (and coincidentally 5 weeks after our Paris trip). The year when I felt that I finally on my feet, sorting out my life and planning for the future. The year it felt like everything came crumbling down around me. I didn't even like babies, I wanted babies when I was older, when I was mature, when I had actually held a baby or knew what to do with one.
The year that my dad was the only one in my whole family to actually support me, and be excited for me.

2009. 19

The year I got bigger... and bigger... and bigger.

(I've never stopped getting bigger since!!!!)

The year when on the 5th of May, this tiny precious person changed my life forever. I felt as if something had been missing the whole time, and here he was. Like before I got my glasses, and everything was blurry, and I didn't even realise until I got my glasses. That's exactly what it felt like, x1000. And he is still changing my world each and every day.

...To be continued.
